village hall week 2025

2025 will be the 8th year that Village Hall Week has been celebrated. It is run to coincide with ACRE's (Action for Communities in Rural England) National Village Hall Week which is a celebration of all village halls and community centres and is not the anniversary of the geocaching series (which is in February). The week used to be celebrated in January but in 2024 it was moved to March, which is much warmer for any outdoor events, so was a very welcome change.

As usual there will be profile badges for hiding, finding, hosting and attending Village Hall caches or events. 

​

If you would like to host and event it needs to be either inside a village/community hall or outside within sight of the building (maybe a carpark or green area nearby) If you have been awarded a Community Celebration event these are perfect for coffee and cake type events at a hall. 

​

As halls can get booked up in advance it is worth starting planning as soon as possible to secure the date and time you require if you want to host inside a hall. Although you can't charge to attend, if you let your attendees know there was a cost for booking it, you will find that if you put a donation tin out cachers will be generous (especially if you have also provided cake)
